Made for the way you play.

AFTERGROOVE is a small studio in Seoul founded by Seoyul Son, a musician and music educator, making the objects that sit next to the gear on a working desk.

The first stand was a 45° custom build for a friend's 1010music Bluebox. Every design since starts the same way, with a real desk and a real instrument. Stands are designed and 3D-printed in-house, one at a time.

    Design notes: a stand for a more creative space.

    The first stand started with one problem. A Bluebox sitting flat on a crowded desk, angled at nothing and buried behind cables. We sketched a 45° wedge, printed it, put the unit on it, then printed it again.

    A few revisions later the frame lost its screws entirely and became four parts that hold together by geometry alone. A base, two side supports and a brace that lifts out when you want a lower profile.

    Every design since follows the same path. Measure the real device, print a test piece, live with it for a few days, then cut away whatever the stand does not need.

    Choosing the angle.

    Explore the details

    Angle is a compromise between reading the screen and reaching the controls. Sit close to a desktop sampler and a steep tilt puts the display in your eye line, but it pushes the knobs further away.

    So we start from where you actually sit, set the tilt around that, and check it with the real unit in place before anything is final.

    Height follows the same rule. A stand should lift your gear just enough to clear whatever sits in front of it, and no more.

    See how it works

    Cables decide how a desk feels long before the gear does. The frames are printed open on purpose, so patch and power runs pass straight through the triangle instead of piling up behind it.

    Every contact point carries a soft pad. It grips the desk, keeps the unit from sliding while you play, and stops the print from marking the surface underneath.

    PETG holds its shape through all of it, warm rooms included, and takes a matte finish that does not show every fingerprint.
